Heatwaves and Art!

Another week has passed in Paris...

July 31, 2018

After 2 weeks here, I can say Paris wasn’t our favorite place, but it definitely started to grow on us more as we stayed longer.

There was a horrible heatwave that lasted for about a week, and we were on the fourth floor with no AC! Thankfully, nature finally intervened – in the form of a massive hailstorm! We got hail the size of golf balls bouncing around!!

Our trip here was nearing its end, so we decided to explore two of the city’s most popular museums – the Musée d’Orsay and the Louvre.

The Musée d’Orsay has an amazing collection of Van Gogh and Monet paintings. I absolutely loved seeing them! And the Louvre is nothing short of AMAZING. Seriously, I could write an entire page on it… but I’ll spare your time hahaha.

We dedicated an entire day to exploring it and spent most of the day wandering through the Egyptian, Greek, and Mesopotamian antiquities. We also ran up to see the Mona Lisa for just a second. We have heard it is overrated, but we just had to. It was worth it!

It’s pretty neat seeing all of these artifacts and art pieces that you’ve seen in textbooks your entire life. 😂 I could’ve spent an entire month there. It was just massive.

I
have a few pictures I need to upload from the DSLR too! I’ll be posting more soon!
