We’ve been loving beautiful Bonaire!!! We got here 5 weeks ago now… Bonaire is just as awesome as we remember it!!! (Minus a bit of weather and a bit more land development this time)
Right when we landed, we picked up our rental car (we decided to get a real ride this time) and we tried to find our Airbnb. We decided to stay in the same one we did back in 2018… and I can’t believe it, but we found it on our first try! Wow!!
Almost immediately after landing, we got in the water and met an awesome couple from Holland, Andrea and Alex! And quite literally, over a sea turtle, hahaha. Meeting them has definitely been a huge highlight of this trip. They left a couple of weeks ago, but for those 3 short weeks, we loved having dive & hiking friends! We explored all over with them, and we’re looking forward to seeing them again in the Netherlands when we visit!
We’ve also been working a lot on our diving. Alan can hold his breath for 5 minutes and 30 seconds, and me, 3 minutes and 30 seconds. Alan has always been able to dive pretty deep, but I’m pretty stoked that I’m able to get down to ~15-18 meters easily now (scaring you yet mom?). We were going to get free dive certified, but the shop never got back to us. Guess we’ll have to do it another time!
This upcoming week, we have our friend Leif coming to visit again! (He has made an appearance in previous posts!) and his wife Tori will be joining this time too! We’re SO excited!!!!
