Aruba, Jamaica, ooh, I wanna take ya!

The last of the ABC islands!

April 20, 2022

After our trip to Puerto Vallarta and our dash home to deal with bed bugs… we had to decide where to go next. It has gotten harder and harder with Covid restrictions. We can’t stay in the USA, we can’t travel to Asia, Latin America’s schedule is too hard, and we used up most of our Schengen visa.

So we decided to find somewhere warm to wait out the rest of the winter and have a bit more time for Covid restrictions to settle. We decided on Aruba!

The last of the ABC islands we needed to visit, and we decided to stay 4 weeks there!

Straight from that party (why is there always a party before our flights?!), we hopped on our flight and made it to Aruba later that weekend!

This will not be long; we pretty thoroughly covered it in our video. But we did get settled into a very inexpensive Airbnb in the middle of the island. It’s small and simple but comfortable. And a huge plus – there’s an adorable cat outside that loooooves chicken! We’ve been spoiling her and relaxing a ton.

We have greatly enjoyed the colorful buildings, the always warm weather, hiking around the desert, an occasional dip in the ocean, getting piña colada smoothies, the donkey sanctuary, and sunsets at Eagle Beach! Aruba had the best beaches for sure, but I think we enjoy Curaçao and Bonaire more… it’s a bit too resort-y for us!

Anyways, I’m sorry this is so short, and I’ve been inconsistent at best with my updates. I’ve just been in a bit of a funk. I think everything that has happened this year (and maybe last year too, covid was whack), a hormonal medication I’ve had (and got taken out here, woohoo!), and then I was just totally distraught at the start of the Ukraine war… just a lot at once, but I’m trying my best to stay positive and carry on!
