A very LATE Istanbul update...

I realize I didn’t really make a good post about the rest of our time in Istanbul. That’s for a good reason, but I’ll share that later. We ended up staying for six weeks and adored it! Can’t wait to make it back!Â

Because I’m so behind on our updates, I don’t have many details to share, but we LOVED going out for Turkish breakfast most days (if you ever get the chance, try it!!!), Alan drank his own weight in pomegranate juice… and me – I loved the coffee. We got to see it start snowing in the city & got teased for how excited I got, lol. I’m also pretty sure I’ve set a world record for how many cats I pet there, lol.Â
Annnd we visited the Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Grand Bazaar, and more! We spent New Years in the city with a friend who had recently been in Iraq and had stopped by Turkey for a while… together we walked miles out to find a good spot to view fireworks… that just never went off, lol. The rest of the city was a party though!!!
We’ll definitely miss Istanbul; we loved everything about it (minus the cigarette stank that permeates the entire city, lol)! But really, there’s nowhere like it! Hope we get to visit again soon! I really wish I had more to share in this post, but we had a family emergency that took priority just after new years, and then other things happened that set us behind. I’ll get back to it soon!
